As a stay-at-home dad (with a 10 month old) who is new the suburbs I wanted to start a group to meet other parents and kids in the neighborhood. I'd love to plan fun outings to the park, the library, the pool, etc. as well as casual play dates at home. I'm excited to meet other parents who are going a little stir crazy staying at home all day.

Hyde Park Area Parents is a group for moms and dads who discuss the "fun" of parenthood, plan meet ups, socialize, and create a community for our children. While our kids become friends, we can have conversations. Playdates, story time, parties, lunches, museums, classes, MOMMY/DADDY NIGHTS OUT- just some of the fun meetups in store. Parenting is far from simple, so why not have support from the mom you see at Starbucks or the dad who frequents the same park as you?

Hey moms, Motherhood is an amazing ride - life-changing, awe-inspiring, and maybe a bit sleep-depriving (!?), to say the least! Meeting your neighborhood moms who have little ones the same age as yours is so ideal - to make friends, have age-appropriate get togethers, and to be involved in community. In this group, expecting moms can meet one another and share in the excitement of what's to come. Moms of newborns/infants can get together to share ideas, experience, coffee (: ) and support …

This group was created by a mom who left city life behind to tackle new adventures in suburbia. And what a blessing! HAMs has been a great resource for our beautiful children, and for ourselves as young mothers, connecting with ladies in similar life settings. We love venturing out to parks, pools, splash pads, the zoo, children's museum, rec centers, etc. as well as gathering for mom time to socialize without distraction. If you are looking for fun ways to entertain your little one and share …

I'm interested in meeting other Out (semi/ fully, home/work) Professional, Gay, Black Men (OPGBM). My desire to create this Meet Up group stems primarily from feeling like I'm the only 'OPGBM' on the planet. While it's easy to connect with my caucasion counterparts...in the 10 yrs I've lived in Chicago...I can't say the same about meeting other OPGBMs. I'm a successful, well-educated, ambitous, out, professional, gay, black man. I would love to meet other OPGBMs in the world to discuss music, la …
I'm a new mom in Edgewater who would like to meet other first-time moms and dads in the area. I'd like to get together, not only to share our experiences with parenting, but also to simply enjoy time with others. I know that life can be crazy right now, but I think a group like this has the potential to help all of us maintain just a little bit of sanity.
